The Paris Motor Show promises to bring its share of electric novelties and, among these, many of the most original models. Thus, there is no doubt that visitors will flock to the booth where the Microlino will be displayed, a two-seater micro-urban car whose design is directly inspired by the famous BMW Isetta, marketed between 1955 and 1962.
At 2.51 m long, 26 cm longer than its predecessor, the Microlino announces a maximum range of 230 km and a maximum speed of 90 km/h. Unlike the Citroën Ami, to which it is spontaneously associated, the Italian is therefore accessible only to holders of a driving licence. A curiosity, certainly!
Also to be discovered in Paris is the very original Jeep Avenger, a small-format SUV, cousin to the Peugeot e-2008 and DS 3 Crossback and other Opel Mokka-e’s. In the program, a range supposedly close to 400 km accompanied by optimized off-road capabilities thanks to ground clearance and significant angles of attack and flight, in the Jeep tradition. Very nice design, in any case.
However, it is on the side of Chinese manufacturers that the electric offensive promises to be the most spectacular. Notable among them is Byd, whom Caradisiac has been talking to you about a lot in recent weeks.
Three models will be shown in Paris: the Tang, a 7-seater family SUV, the Atto 3, a 4.46 m compact crossover (same size as the star Peugeot 3008) capable of traveling up to 420 km on its 60 kWh battery, and finally the Han, a large sedan with a length of 4.99 m and a range of 521 km (85.5 kWh battery).
To these interesting news are added, in particular, those of the Renault group, which will obviously present the long-awaited R5, a city car that should replace the Zoé in 2024, but also the revisited 4L, whose provocations began some time ago. … several months already.
Let’s also mention the hydrogen-powered Scénic Vision concept car, as well as the Alpine E-ternité, which foreshadows a future “zero-emissions” berlinetta. And at Dacia, let’s discover Spring under its new face.
Other surprises are to be expected in particular from the Stellantis group (Peugeot, DS), but also from Hopium, a French start-up that will showcase the Machina Vision, a foreshadowing of a large premium hydrogen sedan. And all this will make this 2022 edition of Mondial de l’auto the most trendy one… until next time!
Caradisiac, partner of the Paris Motor Show
As in 2018, Caradisiac is once again a partner in 2022 of the Mondial de l’Auto which will take place in Paris from 17 to 23 October. Caradisiac’s editorial team will therefore be moved to its own stand during the fair to analyse, dissect, photograph and film all the new models.
And of course this will also be an opportunity for you to come, as you are used to, to meet our journalists. Which new or used car to buy? They will answer all your questions. Until then, we will give you in Caradisiac all the information we could get from the manufacturers about their new models.
