RLTY: a start-up to make metaverses accessible to all companies

A French start-up is on its way to positioning itself as the first event solution metaverse world. With a pre-seed fundraising of 4 million euros and carried out by three recognized entrepreneurs — Raphaël Assouline, Jérôme Guilmet and Zack Sabban —, RLTY deploys its commercial and creative potential at breakneck speed.

RLTY aims to support brands and event companies in discovering and conquering metaverses. They are free to invest them according to their problems: a new space for play, expression and creation, a new opportunity to anchor a bond with their community, a new place of exchange, new business possibilities… RLTY are designed to be easy to use and democratize entry into these new virtual worlds.

Raphaël Assouline is one of the co-founders of RLTY. He looks at the start-up’s first few months, the challenges it has already faced and the developments it is planning.

Can you introduce us to RLTY in a few words?

Rafael Assouline : RLTY launched in January 2022. Makes the metaverse accessible to brands and event companies to enable them to deploy unique, personalized experiences in virtual worlds. We offer our customers an interface that connects with most players in the market so that they can create, in a few clicks and at an affordable cost, a first experience. The customer arrives at our platform, chooses his metaverse, his virtual building, customizes it (decoration, logo, etc.) and selects the relevant features for what he wants to do. There are many: broadcasting a live physical event, deploying virtual stands with institutional videos, engaging and interacting with exhibitors through their avatars, having an NFT store or virtual gifts, launching quizzes, positioning networking spaces, etc. ready to promote the event, through a landing page that we offer. All this can be done in 15 minutes.

Who is behind the RLTY project? How was he born?

We are three co-founders of RLTY: Zack Sabban, Jérôme Guilmet and myself. Together with Jérôme, we created the company Geronimo, a specialist in the design and development of customized mobile applications for companies, acquired in 2018 by OnePoint. After this adventure, I fell in love with investments, cryptocurrencies, NFTs and the rise of the metaverses. Zack, however, created Festicket, the Marketplace which sells tickets for concerts and festivals, but which, above all, has launched a full range of services, with travel, accommodation, connected payment wristbands, etc. That’s why he knows the events industry very well. I also worked in this area, launching the start-up Handyamo, which rents touch tablets for short periods for professional events.

When, in 2020, the events industry came to a halt, Zack shifted his business to virtual events. Its limits were quickly highlighted: participants are passive in front of a screen, with no interaction. However, we saw the beginnings of what a virtual event could become. In late 2021, after sharing a lot of thoughts and ideas, the three of us decided to launch. As of January 2022, the RLTY was on its feet.

What needs does RLTY meet?

RLTY responds to a utilitarian and functional need, exacerbated by the pandemic: to bring people together remotely (professionally or festively), through a quality experience, around a specific and common interest. Thanks to their avatar, participants also control their interactions and their journey. RLTY also responds to the needs of brands to reach a new consumer target: both a younger generation and a captive generation of cryptocurrencies and NFTs, looking for spaces to consume.

We are convinced that 3D virtual spaces are a new Internet. In the coming months and years, we will consume the Internet with increasingly enriched and immersive experiences. Today we interact with our computers, tomorrow we will go through virtual reality headsets. New higher quality versions are currently in full development among the larger ones. With RLTY, we want to allow brands to enter these worlds and launch, initially, with one-off experiences. It is, for them, an opportunity to take a stand.

You managed to raise 4 million euros: can you tell us more?

We closed a €4 million fundraising round in June, thanks to 80 renowned investors such as Sorare founders The Sandbox, Meero and Jellysmack, and funds such as Kima Ventures, Blue Wire Capital and Monoceros Venture. We gather players from Web2, Web3, games and NFT. This fundraising aims to accelerate the launches of our products and complete our teams, with recruitments in Technology, Marketing and Sales.

What are your projects?

RLTY has already organized several national and international events: the Metaverse Dome and the NFT Expoverse LA last July, the BPIFrance MetaverseVision in june, the festival of the metaverse MET AMSThe NFT Days Betsthe first NFT Film Festival in Cannes… We always meet with great success. Our next events will be musical: a collaboration with the Illenium music festival and a weekly nights format with the club Amnesia (Ibiza). We will also animate communities on NFT topics.

In a few months, RLTY managed to convince and deploy its services in major festivals, artists, fairs and art exhibitions, fairs, fashion designers and luxury brands. A pioneer in its field, the start-up opens vast fields of activity and possible interactions to all those who wish to launch themselves. At a time when brands and artists aspire to bring together and pamper their communities, virtual worlds are emerging as new lands to explore.
