Eletric cars. The share of sales of each brand in 2021 – L’argus PRO

According to data from the firm NGC-Data®, he registered 162,114 new 100% electric cars in 2021, i.e. a 9.8% share of the French car market (1.8% in 2018). These cars saw a 46.1% jump from 2020. In January 2022, in a total market down 18.6%, BEVs saw a 57.9% increase, representing a share of 9.9 % of NV records. Thirty electric motor-powered models will be launched in the coming months in France, including the Dacia Spring, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Mercedes-Benz EQB and Rolls-Royce Specter.

Tesla Model 3, queen of electricity

Last year, four brands exclusively registered new cars equipped with 100% electric motors in France: Tesla, Smart, Aiways and Seres. The Tesla Model 3 (24,911 units) took first place in the electric vehicle market in France (VP), surpassing the first Renault Zoe (23,573 copies). In the top 10, we also find the Fiat brand, carried by its small 500, as well as Mini, Kia, Porsche and Hyundai, whose the electric portion is above 10%.

These brands have not registered any 100% electric cars

On the other hand, twelve car brands, with at least 100 units last year, did not sell any 100% electric car, favoring other technologies. Among them we find Suzuki, Jeep, Land Rover, Alfa Romeo, Mitsubishi or Alpine.

In a press release published in January 2022, the National Association for the Development of Electric Mobility (Avere France) listed the automotive brands that would switch to fully electric in the coming years.
